The hugely popular Open Air Cinema Festival returns to Torre Abbey this August for a third consecutive year and promises two weeks of alfresco cinema magic.
Set under the stars amongst the stunning romantic ruins of the Abbey’s award winning gardens, popular blockbuster movies, cult classics and family favourites will be screened over nine nights.
Screenings are confirmed for Sing Along: The Greatest Showman, Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure; Labyrinth, Moulin Rouge, A Star is Born, and Mary Poppins Returns. There’s also a surprise screening which will be announced nearer the time.
Cabinet Member for Infrastructure, Environment and Culture, Cllr Mike Morey, said: “In 2018, Torre Abbey museum experienced record sales with almost 2,000 people buying advanced tickets, due to popular demand The Greatest Showman was screened five times and is still proving as popular as ever this year.
“The gardens at Torre Abbey Museum are extremely beautiful, so to be able see classic films in such a wonderful setting is really special.”

In addition to the Open Air Cinema Festival, there are also a range of Open Air Theatre performances taking place for all the family enjoy. These include The Wind in the Willows, The Comedy of Errors and Mister Magnolia and not forgetting a brand new exhibition for the summer ‘The BFG in Pictures’.
