This March Torre Abbey Museum will host the ground-breaking exhibition TATTOO: British Tattoo Art Revealed.
To coincide with the exhibition, the museum will be collecting ‘Torbay Tattoo Tales’ – a photo documentary of Torbay’s tattoos and the stories behind them. Every ‘Torbay Tattoo Tale’ collected will be displayed as part of the exhibition and on the Torre Abbey Museum website.
Cllr Nicole Amil, Executive Lead for Tourism, Culture and Harbours, said “The team at Torre Abbey hope to document over a thousand tattoo stories. A project blog will provide a rich social history of the Bay in 2018 so that, in the future, researchers and interested visitors can explore a vibrant snapshot of life here in South Devon. Your tattoo and your tattoo tale will become tangible living heritage of the wonderful Bay we live in.”
