Any day of the week families will find plenty of adventures both inside and out in the Abbey gardens. Free kids' trails throughout the house and gardens, with more challenging trails for teens. Dressing up, games, and plenty of outside space to relax and roam. During school holidays we run a changing menu of family activity programmes.
Waves of Imagination Writing Project
Torre Abbey is excited to announce a unique writing challenge for young people to accompany our brand-new exhibition ‘Vikings: Fact and Fiction’ running from 30 July to 3 November. We challenge you to create a saga worthy of the Vikings!
What: A bespoke writing resource pack created by The Writer’s Block and a captivating soundscape story starter created by the team behind Ocean Digital and Sound Communities.
How: Dive into this pack of Viking themed creative-writing prompts. We are encouraging schools and families to explore our writing prompts and immerse themselves in a beautiful soundscape to spark creativity and create their own Viking saga.
Who: We’ve developed a five-part creative writing stimulus resource and immersive soundscape prompt, suitable for Key stages 1-3
Submission: Submit your original creative writing entries based on the prompts and soundscape to be in with the chance to have your work exhibited at Torre Abbey and win an incredible prize for your whole class.
Prizes: Three lucky winners will receive an exclusive Sound Communities soundscape production workshop for their entire class here at Torre Abbey. All shortlisted entries will win a year’s pass for Torre Abbey for their whole family.
